Careers and Employability can help you develop career and study goals and provide tips and advice at any stage during your degree.


We provide a range of services and resources aimed at improving your employability and helping you to discover the professional pathways where you can take your degree.

A Murdoch degree gives you the flexibility to create a career unique to you. If you need help with your career planning and development, we can assist you with:

  • identifying graduate opportunities
  • supporting you in developing a tailored job search strategy
  • understanding how to make your skills and experience stand out to employers.

Come along to a drop-in session in the Geoffrey Bolton Library during the semester to chat with a Career Development Advisor for tips and advice.

Find part time or casual work

Along with graduate opportunities, employers post positions suitable for students on the myMurdoch Career jobs board so you can find experience in your chosen area of study or find a part time or casual job whilst studying.

Improve your job search skills

is your first stop for job search assistance:

  • The resources section has guides on writing a resume and cover letter, as well as other useful tips and information to help you with your job search. Our are tailored to your field of study and aim to improve your resume and cover letter writing, interview performance and more.
  • For further help, you can book into attend a workshop on job search strategies and career development. View upcoming events on to book your place.
  • We also provide a resume and job application feedback service. Submit your documents via or come along to a drop-in session with your resume or cover letter.

Boost your employability

is a free, self-paced online support resource available to all current Murdoch students anytime, anywhere. Once enrolled, you can choose from three different modules depending on your career and job-search needs.

Learn to network and meet employers

Throughout the year, we host networking events and employer presentations where you can meet employer and industry representatives and learn about opportunities in your chosen industry.

Many employers and professional associations also host networking events off-campus, designed to give you the opportunity to broaden your industry knowledge and professional network.
